This article lists the languages that are currently supported in Microsoft Copilot. For any supported languages:
- You can successfully input text as prompts in all modalities in all features for Microsoft Copilot.
- Microsoft Copilot features can function using grounding data.
- Microsoft Copilot features can produce output in all modalities.
- Microsoft Copilot features are fully localized.
- Feature teams will respond to and fix customer issues feedback, and bugs logged.
- Output quality (functional and linguistic) in the language has been tested broadly across all Microsoft Copilot features and meets Microsoft's quality requirements for an enterprise release.
If you're using Microsoft Copilot and you're getting an error that indicates a language isn't currently supported, it means that Microsoft Copilot cannot process information in that language at this time. You can get an unsupported-language message even if the user interface (UI) is translated into your language.
This article describes what to do if you run into an unsupported-language issue and lists the languages that are currently supported.

What languages are currently supported in Microsoft Copilot prompts and responses?
In general, Copilot supports the following languages for prompts:

What causes an unsupported-language error?
Currently, Microsoft Copilot supports fewer languages than what's available for the UI. So although you can choose from lots of languages for the UI in Teams and Microsoft 365 Apps, Copilot works with a fewer number of languages.
If you type a prompt in Copilot, and the language you're using or requesting isn't currently supported, you'll get an error message.
What do I do if I get a language error in Microsoft Copilot?
Copilot provides responses to prompts that are written in supported languages.
If you type a prompt that requests content in another language that isn't currently supported, Copilot displays a message telling you to change your prompt and try again. If you run into this issue, use one of the supported languages for your prompt and try again.
Will more languages be added to Microsoft Copilot?
Microsoft is planning to add more languages to Copilot. This article will be updated as additional languages are supported.
